What is Lifeline?

LIFELINE is a federal government program that offers qualified low-income households a discount on basic local telephone service and internet. The federal lifeline discount for voice only service is $5.25/month. The federal lifeline discount for internet or internet/voice bundled service is $9.25/month.

Idaho

Through the Idaho Lifeline program, residents can save up to $11.75 a month. The federal discount on internet service is $9.25. The federal discount on phone only service is $5.25. The state discount on voice service is $2.50. This discount is for telephone only service. Apply or recertify for Lifeline in Idaho by visiting https://www.lifelinesupport.org/ and follow the application instructions. You can also download the application form here, or you can pick up an application at the Farmers Mutual Telephone Company business office at 319 SW 3rd St. in Fruitland, Idaho.

Oregon

Through the Oregon Lifeline program, residents can save up to $19.25 a month. Those who qualify for the Oregon Lifeline discount of $10.00 a month also qualify for the Federal discount of $9.25/month for a total of $19.25/month for both. This program can cover basic telephone/internet service charges, plus the subscriber line charge. Federal       $9.25 Internet, Internet/Voice bundled discount

Oregon/Federal Internet, Internet/Voice Bundled $19.25/month discount

Oregon applicants will need to apply through the State of Oregon and then the State of Oregon can qualify for federal assistance.

Eligibility & Restrictions

Lifeline can only be used for the primary telephone line and internet in a household. You may purchase additional services available to a non-Lifeline customer. You must establish phone or internet service prior to applying for the Lifeline discount. The name on the phone bill must match the name of the household member participating on the eligible program.
