Never open an attachment or click on any link in an email from a strange source. Delete the email immediately.

Never share any personal information via email unless the email is from a trusted source. If you are unsure, call FMTC and ask for our IT Department. One of our Internet Technicians would be happy to assist you.

If you ever receive a phone call from someone saying your computer has a virus, hang up and do not allow access into your computer. These calls are scams.

Creating strong passwords that you change often is a must to avoid scams and access into your accounts online.

If you have children at home keep your desktop or laptop in a central location in the home where it can be easily seen. Also, choose the highest privacy settings for children and teen’s social media accounts.

Be cautious not to reveal personal information online. Avoid online quizzes, challenges and free offers.

When you order anything online, check the browser to make sure it is a https site and not just http. The https site is more secure. Click this link for more information.

Schedule security and software updates regularly.
